Miss Lily is a small team in India working on this full-time. Mostly engineers and writers who grew up in tier-2 India, moved cities for college and work, and still freeze sometimes in the calls that matter. So we built the app we wanted, for the people who feel like we did.
BrightChamps Tech Private Limited is a global education-technology company. Miss Lily is its adult speaking-English coach for India.
BrightChamps brings live, premium learning programs to students across India and the world — coding, AI, finance, robotics, design. Miss Lily extends that mission into adult speaking practice: the part of English you already know, said out loud, in the moments that matter at work and home.
We measure five things.
Not fluency scores. Not vocabulary size. Not accent match. Five things you can point at, defend, and watch change over time. The full method is at /diagnostics.
Filler count
How often you say um, uh, basically, actually — per minute. Lower count usually means more in-control speech.
Pause after a question
The time between when a question ends and when your answer begins. Long pauses suggest the freeze pattern.
Words per minute
Native-comfortable speed for English is 120–160 WPM. Too fast usually means anxiety. Too slow usually means searching.
Answer structure
Did you open with the point? Did you close cleanly? A structured answer is recallable. A rambly one isn't.

Honest is more useful than magical
No “fluent in 30 days”. We measure the change you can defend: filler count down, pause shorter, structure cleaner. Specifics over promises.
Characters are bounded, by design
Every character ships with a written persona policy and a kill switch. They do not pretend to be human, do not pressure you to stay, and do not lock intimacy behind payment.
India is the design, not the localisation
Built by people who switch between two languages in the same sentence. INR pricing. Indian-English speech-to-text. Scenarios from rooms we have actually sat in.
Your voice stays yours
Mumbai data residency. DPDP Act 2023 compliant. Voice processed in real time, never stored without consent. Phone-OTP only. We never ask for your email.
